Failure to stop the march of the proscribed religious outfit Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) is likely to lead to the transfer of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar.

The 24News HD TV channel reported on Wednesday that Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar Wednesday decided to change the CCPO Lahore on his poor performance during the TLP long march.

According to the sources in Punjab police, the Punjab CM has interviewed three officers to appoint one of them as the new CCPO Lahore in replace of Ghulam Mahmood Dogar.

On Wednesday, Federal Minister for Interior Sheikh Rasheed called on the Punjab CM and discussed the issues of law and order in the province.

During the meeting, the Punjab CM said that resolving the current issue of the TLP long march through understanding was a victory for Pakistan.

He criticized the opposition and said in the current situation, the attitude of the opposition parties was against the national interest.

On the occasion, Interior Minister said that the issue was resolved amicably with the strategy of Prime Minister Imran Khan and the situation of the law and order in the country including Punjab was satisfactory.
