The privilege committee of the Punjab Assembly (PA), in its hurriedly called meeting on Monday, ordered PML-N’s flamboyant leader Ata Tarar to appear in the next meeting of the committee; failing which police would produce him before the committee handcuffed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Sources told 24News that the committee met with Chaudhry Ali Akhtar in the chair.

Senior Punjab Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid and member of the Punjab Assembly (MPA) Sadia Sohail Rana, all from PTI, submitted to the committee an application against Tarar for making an objectionable gesture with a finger during the PA session some time ago.

Sources disclosed that the PTI MPAs, in their application, requested the committee chairman, to punish the PML-N leader for damaging the House’s sanctity through his gesture.

The committee chairman, on the occasion, expressed his strong displeasure that Tarar did not appear before the committee last time it had summoned him in connection with the same incident.
