Senators of PTI, JUI, PML-N and JI presented separate bills on an amendment to the Transgenders Act in the upper house of the parliament, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.

All members introduced private bills, which the Senate chairman referred to the relevant committee.

JUI Senator Faiz Muhammad said that the Islam is perfect religion that guarantees all rights.

He continued: “Everyone has rights, including humans and animals.”  He laid emphasis on following the teachings of Islam to protect the rights of all the creatures of Allah Almighty

Senator Mushtaq Ahmed said disabled people are a part of this society, their rights must be guarded

Scholars from all schools of thought agree that the Transgender Bill is against Shariah, he said adding that the House is requested to repeal it.

He stressed the House should take up the Rights Bill instead of the Transgenders' one.
