The investigation into the May 9 tragedy continues as authorities take action against individuals involved in disseminating false information, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has recently registered an FIR against individuals who exaggerated and spread chaos regarding the events of May 9 through the Twitter account "Naya Pakistan."
The accused handlers not only used offensive language against the Pakistan Army but also shared content related to the imposition of martial law and mutiny within the armed forces. The tweets from the verified account of "Naya Pakistan" were aimed at creating unrest and turmoil in the country.
Upon tracing the account, FIA swiftly registered a case against the four individuals responsible for running the Twitter handle that was involved in spreading misinformation and discord. Twitter itself confirmed that the account handlers were tweeting against the interests of the country.
Following the registration of the case, the FIA has initiated further investigation into the matter to identify and apprehend all those involved in the propagation of false and harmful content. Authorities are determined to bring those responsible for spreading chaos and misinformation to justice.
