2024 first polio virus case reported in Punjab

First polio virus case has been reported in Punjab during 2024, creating concerns among the health officials, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to Anti Polio Program Punjab, polio virus has been confirmed in a child from Chakwal district and this is the first case of polio virus in Punjab province.

Anti-polio program Punjab coordinator says that a 6-year-old child in Chakwal is infected with polio. This year, the number of polio-affected children in the country has increased to 12.

During the current year, 9 cases of polio have been reported in Balochistan, 2 in Sindh and 1 in Punjab.
