The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced the results of the CSS Special Exam 2023 written test, with only 519 candidates declared successful out of the 15,245 who appeared for the exam.

A total of 21,947 candidates had initially registered for the exam, but a significant number did not appear, leaving the overall pass rate at just 3.40%.

The FPSC emphasized that candidates must successfully complete all four stages of the CSS examination — written test, medical examination, psychological assessment, and oral interview — to qualify for final selection.

The CSS (Central Superior Services) Exam is a prestigious competitive examination conducted annually by the FPSC. Successful candidates are recruited as Grade 17 officers and join various departments of the Civil Service of Pakistan, playing a key role in the country's administration.

The CSS exam remains one of the most challenging pathways to a career in Pakistan’s civil service, with a historically low pass rate underscoring the rigorous nature of the selection process.
