PTI mulls sending Sh Rashid, Azam Swati to APC

February 4, 2023 04:33 PM

The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf is mulling to send Sheikh Rashid Ahmad and Azam Swati to represent the party in the All Parties Conference, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday called an All Parties Conference (APC) on February 7 in Islamabad and invited the country’s political leadership, including PTI Chairman Imran Khan, to discuss ways to overcome the challenges the country is facing. The PTI, however, declined the invitation on Friday.

But sources revealed that Fawad Chaudhry advised the party to send Sh Rashid and Azam Swati to attend the APC.

He suggested to PTI Chairman Imran Khan that Sh Rashid had remained as interior minister so he was fully aware of the security situation of the country.

Fawad further said that Swati was a seasoned politician and he could represent the party in the APC in the best way.

According to sources, Imran said that the current rulers had no idea of the gravity of the national and international challenges, the country was facing today.

The PTI chief said that his people tried to remind the government of rising terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa time and again, but instead of paying heed to our complaints, the government started filing sedition cases against our party members, sources added.

They said that Imran was of the view that the current government lacked seriousness in every matter. The PTI chief said that the government was serious only in the photoshoots, sources added.
