A police constable allegedly killed his female friend by firing at her and later ended his life in the Samanabad locality of Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to details, the distressing event occurred on Panj Pir Road, adjacent to the second roundabout of Samanabad, where Police Constable Asad fatally shot 33-year-old Alia Mubasher.

Subsequently, the constable serving in CIA Police Nawan Kot turned the gun on himself, succumbing to self-inflicted wounds.

Alia Mubasher, a mother of four children hailing from Javed Market, Ichra, became the victim of the unfortunate turn of events.

Constable  Asad resided in a rented room where the incident occured.

The investigation team collected crucial evidence from the crime scene before transferring the bodies to the mortuary for post-mortem.

The sources said preliminary assessments suggested a personal dispute might have triggered the tragic episode.

However, law enforcement agencies are probing all possible angles to ascertain the circumstances leading to the grim outcome, they added. .
