Condemning an attack on government vehicles at Bagan in Parachinar, in which Deputy Commissioner Kurram Javedullah Mehsud was injured, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Saturday ordered the concerned officials to submit a report on the incident, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The chief minister said that the people of Kurram wanted peace while their enemy unrest and lawlessness.
He also prayed for the early recovery of those injured. “The fact that such an incident took place after a peace deal was struck between warring factions is ‘extremely unfortunate’,” he commented.
Gandapur said the incident was clearly a deliberate attempt to sabotage the government’s efforts to restore peace in the area. “But such attempts will always fail,” he hoped.
The CM vowed to take strict action against those responsible for the perpetrators of the crime.
He renewed the provincial government’s resolve to restore peace in Kurram and resolve the issues confronting the people of the area.
The agreement reached between rival factions, he went on to say, was proof of the fact that the people of Kurram were peace-loving citizens of the country. “Some miscreants do not want peace and harmony in the area. However, we will foil their all conspiracies.”
Gandapur expressed the optimism that such incidents would not torpedo the efforts being made by the government as well as the tribal elders for harmony in the restive region.
