Drama Producer and Prince Theatre Chairman Syed Muhammad Yousaf shed light on the transformative power of theatre, saying a two-hour play can help people get rid of the 22-hour fatigue and stress they carry.
People should come to watch the immense dedication and hard work of artists of this era, he stressed in a candid convection.
Yousaf emphasized that theatre serves as a vital platform for entertainment and cultural enrichment, offering audiences a chance to unwind and recharge. “We are doing our best to serve the art form and provide quality entertainment that allows people to escape their daily routine fatigue and tension.
Yousaf detailed the stringent security measures in place at his theatre. “We have installed security cameras at every nook and corner, walkthrough gates, and thorough frisking protocols for all attendees. No weapons, lighters, or any prohibited items are allowed inside. Anyone causing trouble is immediately removed from the premises.’’
He emphasized the theatre’s commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment, particularly for women.
“The women who come to watch our plays are like our sisters and mothers. Their safety and respect are our top priority. ‘’
Refuting misconceptions about theatre, Yousaf said, “Theatre is not something bad… intentions can be bad.
“Theatre has always been a productive and fruitful medium for entertainment and cultural expression.”
He recalled successful plays staged at his theatre, including Mula Jutt, Bacha Jamora, and Gaun Ki Gori, and revealed plans to introduce musical events like Qawali nights.
Yousaf reminded of the positive role theatre plays in society and the hard work that goes into preserving its legacy.
His message is “Support the theatre, experience the art, and let it refresh your spirit.”
