8-year-old dies of electrocution from Multan Railway Station’s water cooler

A minor boy was electrocuted to death by a malfunctioning electric water cooler installed at Multan Railway Station Cantt, the 24newsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
According to details, an eight years old boy namely Faiz was present at the railway station along with his family ready to travel from Multan to Faisalabad on the Pakistan Express train.
For quenching his thirst, he went near a cooler installed at the station to drink the water.
The boy suffered severe electric shocks when he touched the cooler and died on the spot.
The people said there was current in the cooler for the last many days but the administration did not pay any heed despite repeated requests.
They said the negligence of the Multan Station administration took the life of an innocent child.
Divisional Superintendent Railway Hammad Hasan Mirza took notice of the incident and suspended refrigerator mechanic Abdul Khaliq. He also ordered the launching of an inquiry into the incident.
