Quetta Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat claimed hours after the tragedy that the suicide bomber, who blew himself up at the Quetta Railway Station on Saturday morning, has been identified. 

According to the initial findings, the blast took place at the entrance to Platform No 1 at 8:30am when Jaffar Express was due to arrive there. At the time of the explosion, no train was present on the platform. The initial report also suggested that people waiting for their trains on Platform No 2 remained safe from the impact of the suicide bombing. 

 

The initial findings also suggest the suicide bomber was carrying 7-8 kilograms of explosive material and he was able to reach right in the centre of the crowd present at the railway station and then blow himself up.
