Verification of PTI MNAs’ resignations to begin on Monday

June 4, 2022 06:20 PM

The verification of the resignations given by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) members of the National Assembly (MNAs) following their government’s ouster in April 2022 would start day after tomorrow (Monday, June 6), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Quoting its sources, the channel reported that initially the resignations of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry and Shireen Mazari were likely to be accepted.

In all, 30 MNAs of the party would go to the NA speaker’s chamber every day for the verification of their resignations, they disclosed.

Sources further said that in the event of any MNA not going to the speaker’s chamber, Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf would decide the status of his or her resignation after consultations with the parties, part of the coalition government.

According to the NA secretariat, it is incumbent upon each and every MNA of the party to go to the speaker’s chamber for the verification.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PTI’s high command has already directed the party MNAs not to go to the assembly building for the purpose.
