Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar has taken a jibe at the coalition government for what he called targeting the PTI people.
“Today the founder of PTI and Shah Mehmood Qureshi have been acquitted honorably. So bogus cases (against PTI people) will be quashed soon,” he said.
He added: “We will get justice. I was told to abandon my leader but I stood firm. The party could not be broken by persecution
“The PTI has been subjected to political persecution since April 2022. The form-47 government has been imposed.
“We demand that a judicial commission be formed to decide the May 9 cases. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto from a commission, but he fell to judicial murder.
He went on: “The coalition government was using force to put the PTI people behind bars and humiliate them.”
“The police were being used to register bogus cases against us.
"Our workers have been subjected to physical and mental torture. Several PTI members people have been arrested in such bogus cases.
“Six such cases were registered against me”
He stressed the PTI is not allowed to hold public gatherings.
“We have to approach the court for help to get permission from the deputy commissioner to hold a public rally.”
About the sugarcane issue, he said November 15 was the deadline for sugar mills but June has come and the growers are yet to be paid. “A mafia is in action to oppress the farmers.”
