PDMA distributes cash, relief items among rain-hit people on KP CM’s orders

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has directed authorities concerned to provide immediate relief to the people affected by recent heavy rains, flash floods and landslides in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
After getting detailed briefing regarding devastation in the province, Chief Minister Gandapur on Monday directed the PDMA that along with relief services, food and other required items should also be distributed among the victims.
Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa informed the CM that amid heavy rains and thunderstorms, landslide incidents at least 35 people died and 43 others got injured in the province during the last five days. Moreover, 346 houses damaged partially while 46 houses damaged completely.
The CM directed PDMA that besides provision of relief goods, families of the deceased and the injured should be offered financial assistance as well.
PDMA also told CM that it already distributed food and financial assistance cheques among the victims in Charsada, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Malakand, Mohmand, Bannu, Khyber, Bajur, Naushehra and Peshawar.
The items which were distributed by PDMA include blankets, quilts, gas cylinders, water coolers, kitchen sets, health kits, sand bags etc.
CM Gandapur also directed the authorities that all closed routes and roads should be opened immediately.
On the occasion, the CM said government will not leave rain and landslide victims alone at the time of trial. The CM directed PDMA, Rescue 1122, district administrations to remain alerts to counter any untoward situation in the province.
