A severe shortage of wheat flour at the state-run utility stores throughout Karachi is creating problems for the residents who have already been  facing history's worst inflation, the 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

A majority of Karachi residents belong to middle and low-income groups who heavily rely on government-operated utility stores for affordable groceries, particularly wheat flour.

The scarcity of wheat flour at utility stores over the last ten days owing to mismanagement of the authorities has left the city's citizens in dire straits, forcing them to turn to local markets where flour prices are considerably higher.

This situation has driven up costs for a staple food item that is a fundamental part of the daily diet for countless households.

In response to the crisis, residents have been compelled to search for wheat flour in local bazaars and streets, where prices have skyrocketed due to the sudden surge in demand, causing financial strain on the affected communities.

The Karachiits are increasingly voicing their concerns, urging the government to step in and ensure the availability of wheat flour at utility stores. The frustration experienced by those who visit these stores in hopes of obtaining affordable flour highlights the urgency of the situation.
