Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi presided over the 28th meeting of the cabinet at the Rawalpindi Commissioner's Office on Tuesday.

Provincial ministers, Advisers, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police and officials concerned attended the meeting

The meeting was briefed about the ongoing development projects in Rawalpindi and the law and order.

The cabinet decided to crack down on gangs and mafias in private housing schemes, facilitating the issuance of NOCs to businesses and healthcare facilities in Murree.

Directives for early completion of the Rawalpindi Ring Road with high standards were also issued and the meeting approved work on the Kutchehri Chowk Project, funds for the restoration of 3 stations of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad metro bus service that were burnt in the violent incidents of May 9.

The cabinet also approved the Safe City project in Rawalpindi, the release of funds in major hospitals of Punjab, the appointment of Presiding Officers in District Consumer Courts in Bahawalnagar, Faisalabad and Lahore, operationalizing Cadet College in the Khanpur area of Rahim Yar Khan, uplifting Central Library Bahawalpur

The commissioner briefed the cabinet about the welfare projects and the RPO on law and order. Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed the completion of public welfare projects on time.

The decisions of the 7th session of the Cabinet Standing Committee on Legal Affairs and Privatization were ratified in the meeting.
