Interior Minister urges PTI to postpone protest call during SCO summit

Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has said that after the visit of Malaysian Prime Minister, Saudi delegation is coming to Pakistan moreover, Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit is also being held in Islamabad in such circumstances, PTI has given a call for protest which will not be allowed at all, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad along with IG Islamabad, Mohsin Naqvi questioned PTI’s protests policy during the high-profile visit of Chinese President. Naqvi advised opposition to hold protests after the end of Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Islamabad.
Interior Minister Naqvi made it clear to PTI that the government and police will not compromise on security issues during the next few days therefore PTI should postpone their protest call from tomorrow to 10 or 12 days later.
Interior Minister said Chinese President is coming to Pakistan and will return on the 17th while Malaysian Prime Minister is also in Islamabad on his official visit. He said measures were being taken for the security of foreign guests. He made it clear to PTI protesters that “don’t expect any leniency from the government if you come on the streets and create law and order situation.
Naqvi said PTI has given a call to attack Islamabad tomorrow, when a head of state is in Islamabad and in whose interest is the protest? Interior Minister questioned.
He said any protest should not be held at the cost of national dignity. The Home Minister urged PTI to withdraw call for tomorrow's protest.
He said the government will not compromise on the security of the Malaysian Prime Minister. He said Section 144 is in force in Islamabad, though it is PTI's constitutional right to hold rally but it is not appropriate to protest in the presence of foreign leaders.
He asked the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to reconsider his decision to come to Islamabad, there will be no leniency if anyone makes an attack on security.
