A journalist was shot dead in Chiniot on Wednesday by a woman for an unknown reason, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to police, journalist Raja Nawaz Mahi was murdered by Nazia daughter of Sarang, a resident of Kandiwal area of Chiniot. 

The accused shot the journalist dead and then turned the gun on herself in an attempt to hurt herself.

She was overpowered by someone present at the spot and was rushed to DHQ Hospital for medical assistance. 

The police reached the spot and started investigation.

DPO Waseem Riaz formed a special team to investigate the incident.
