In a plethora of letters being written to the Chief Justice of Pakistan after the Judicial Commission of Pakistan’s meeting last week, the latest epistle is penned by a JCP member calling for amendments to the judicial commission rules, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Reportedly, JCP member advocate Akhtar Hussain on Friday wrote a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial stressing that amendments to the judicial commission had become paramount adding that a committee headed by the most senior judge of the apex court should amend the JC rules within four weeks.

Advocate Hussain was of the view that the audio recording and minutes of the July 28 meet of the JCP should not have to release.

He wrote that the news of personal differences among the members of judicial commission were a matter of concern.  He said it was the responsibility of the chief justice of Pakistan to allay the reservations of all the members of the JCP

Advocate Hussain said that he read the letters of Justice Qazi Faez Isa, Justice Sardar Tariq, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf Ali.

He was of the opinion that the commission’s meeting should not have to conclude on the request of minority members. All members should be taken on board while deciding any matter.

The Supreme Court on last Friday (July 29) released the audio recording of the JCP meeting convened to elevate five judges to the apex court. But the meeting was ended without promoting any judges as Justice Tariq Masood, Justice Isa, law minister and the AGP rejected the appointment of 4 judges as recommended by CJP Bandial.
