A district and sessions court on Monday declared Ali Amin Gandapur, a central leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) as an absconder while issuing a perpetual arrest warrant against him in a case over having illegal weapons and liquor in possession.
According to 24NewsHD TV, Judge Suhaib Bilal Ranjha heard the case and declared the accused absconder due to his continuous absence from proceeding.
Despite the court's summons, Ali Amin Ganda Pur and his lawyer, Raja Zahoor ul Hassan, were conspicuously absent during the proceedings.
The prosecutor and investigating officer appeared in court with the case records.
Despite being subject to a non-bailable arrest warrant, the court, considering Ali Amin Gandapur's continuous non-appearance, opted for the issuance of an advertising notice.
The court instructed the police to present the accused before it after arresting them on January 4.
