Renowned pediatrician Dr. Faiza Jahan from Aga Khan Hospital has been honored with an award by the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) for her outstanding contributions to global health research.
The award was presented during the society's annual meeting held in the United States, recognizing individuals who have provided exceptional service in their respective fields.
Dr. Faiza led a team that conducted a groundbreaking study on the impact of optimal micronutrient supplementation in pregnant and lactating women. Her research focused on improving the health outcomes of malnourished mothers and children while addressing the challenges of infectious diseases.
In recognition of her significant work, the society also named Dr. Faiza Jahan as an International Fellow.
