Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that everyone is concerned about an incident like Swat and those who disgrace religion are the biggest criminals, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.


Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif presided over the meeting of Ittehad-Bainul-Muslimin Committee Punjab.


The participation of scholars of all schools of thought, eminent elders and academic and religious figures participated in the meeting.


Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, speaking at the Ittehad-e-Bainul-Muslimeen conference said that comprehensive planning has to be done to prevent desecration of holy books.


Maryam Nawaz Sharif if the mob takes the law into their own hands, then there will be no one left.


Whatever it is, we should not allow the law to be taken into our own hands and issue fatwas, said Maryam Nawaz.


She said when the crime is proven, the criminal should be punished and we should catch the culprit and hand him over to the law and if we do not do this, we do not present the bright face of religion to the people.


Maryam Nawaz said complaints of desecration of religion and Holy Quran are coming and we have to do something together. She further said that by making announcements without research, people are gathered and arson begins.


Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that more than 50000 social media accounts and pages have been blocked by the Punjab government.


The security and safety of the Majalis is the responsibility of the Punjab Government, Maryam Nawaz said.


The Punjab government will also join you in distributing food and Niaz on the route of the procession, Maryam Nawaz said.


Maryam Nawaz said a central control room will be established in all districts.


Media is respected but no one will be allowed to throw turban and slander anyone, criticize me as much as you want, I don't care and if you want to make an allegation, give proof, Maryam Nawaz said.


“If there is no proof and the allegation is made with bad faith, then an answer will have to be given”, said Maryam Nawaz.


In the end of her speech, Maryam Nawaz said “I am grateful to all scholars for supporting the law. May Allah Ta'ala grant peace and stability to Pakistan and maintain peace and order in Muharram.
