Criminals in Punjab manage to get fake character certificates to travel abroad

Governments of 10 countries, including the UK and others in Europe, have approached the Punjab Police following the revelation that some criminals from the province managed to obtain fake character certificates to get visas for these countries, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Sources in the police told 24News TV channel that when the record of these people were checked with the Punjab IGP office, their certificates turned out to be fake.
It was also found out that the certificates were tampered with in connivance with the police officials.
Sources disclosed that initially 43 certificates, issued by the police of different districts of Punjab, including Lahore, were found to be not genuine.
On the other hand, Punjab IGP Dr. Usman Anwar has said that action will be taken against these criminals as well as the black sheep in the police department that helped them obtain these certificates.
