PPP Information Secretary Nafisa Shah has said the selected government was hell-bent to make Pakistan epicentre of the coronavirus, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

In a statement, Nafisa said the selected prime minister was directly responsible for the rise in the coronavirus cases and numbers. He created the current alarming situation by declaring the coronavirus as just a flu and thus pushed the people towards death, she added.

Nafisa asked the prime minister to apologise for listing the virus as only a flu, while also demanding an apology from those who allowed shopping malls, hotels and public parks to reopen.

She discussed the issue in a tweet a tweet too, urging the people to name and shame those who had said that “by the Grace of God, Pakistan did not have an Italy-and-US-like situation” and “coronavirus is not a pandemic in Pakistan”.

The PPP information secretary, in her statement, rejected the decisions taken by the federal government and said it was a matter of great concern that the number of the coronavirus cases was nearing 90,000 with the healthcare professionals losing their lives.

Where are the government ministers of PTI who had claimed in the House that Pakistan would not be much affected by the virus, Nafisa questioned, as she criticised the federal government over the lack of any strategy to tackle the situation.
