Heatwave to persist in plain areas; rain expected in upper parts

Mainly very hot and dry weather is expected in most plain areas of the country today; however, light rain-wind/thunderstorm is likely at isolated places in upper parts of the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The weather office said that light rain with thunderstorms may occur at isolated places in Gilgit Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Gusty/dust-raising winds are likely in Potohar region during the period۔

The Met Office informed that the day temperatures are likely to remain unusually high in most parts of the country during the next 04 to 05 days.

Day temperatures in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Sindh and Eastern Balochistan are expected to rise significantly above normal.

Occasional dust storms/dust raising winds may also occur in the afternoon/evening during the period.

The heat wave is likely to be followed by the rain spell in upper and central parts of the country.

Weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country on Saturday while very hot in plain areas, however, light rain occurred at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Sunday’s highest Temperature (°C): Jacobabad 49, Sibbi and Dadu 48.
