In an important development, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday admitted for hearing the petitions filed by three PML-N MNAs from Islamabad, who had requested for a change in the tribunals hearing rival PTI candidates’ petitions in which they had challenged the election results in the constituencies of these MNAs, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The ECP would hear these petitions filed by Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Anjum Aqeel and Khurram Nawaz on June 6.
Two hours ago, a three-member bench of the election commission, headed by the chief election commissioner, had reserved the verdict on these pleas which the PML-N MNAs had filed yesterday.
The petitioners had also prayed to the commission to appoint retired judges in the tribunals.
