Veteran actor Masood Akhtar passes away in Lahore

Veteran film, television and stage actor and director Masood Akhtar passed away in Lahore on Saturday. He was 82, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Masood was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital after his health deteriorated in January this year. Masood Akhtar was suffering from lung cancer and other medical complications.

His Namaz-i-Janaza will be offered at Usman Block in Gulshan Ravi.

Masood Akhtar had a long association with Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall, and was a regular feature at Alhamra Café every evening.

One of his early plays, Paisa Bolta Hai was staged at Alhamra in the 1970s and it earned him huge popularity.
