PSL Hungama: Former cricketers praise Rashid Khan

March 5, 2023 03:19 AM

Former cricketers during the 24NewsHD TV programme PSL Hungama have heaped praise on Lahore Qalandars bowler Rashid Khan for his outstanding performance in the 20th match of the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Qalandars beat Sultans by 21 runs at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Rashid Khan took three wickets for 15 runs in four overs.

Former pacer Muhammad Asif took swipe at Multan Sultans’ Shaan Masood for his poor performance and strike rate. “Shaan Masood has no place in T20 cricket. He is a burden on his team. If an opener is not performing, why he is being sent to strike.”

Former national cricketer Saleem Malik said the credit goes to Lahore's bowling and Rashid Khan's bowling impressed him a lot. Muhammad Yusuf repeated his remarks about bowling for victory in T20. “The way Lahore Qalandars bowled today, especially Rashid Khan, is laudable,” he added.

The analyst said that the batting line of Sultans was very good but to no avail. Muhammad Asif said Rizwan made changes in the team which cost him dearly.

“The Sultans got off to a good start but failed to establish any partnership. Credit goes to Lahore's devastating bowling. The Sultans' fielding was too weak and the players dropped catches that cost them.

Pollard with captain Rizwan offered some resistance to the Qalandars. They made 39 and 30 respectively in the total 159 for seven wickets. Lahore Qalandars set a 181-run target. Abdullah Shafique and Sam Billings shined as they managed to build a fighting total for Qalandars after losing early wickets of the opening pair of Fakhar Zaman and Mirza Tahir Baig.
