Questioning the delay, senior PML-N leader and former finance minister Ishaq Dar has urged National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser to form the committee on analysing all the aspects of the Finality of Prophethood (PBUH) and taking necessary action on the matter.
In a tweet, the former finance minister shared a video clip in which the speaker had promised to form a committee on the issue as he was addressing the reservations expressed by PML-N member Barjees Tahir in the National Assembly.

Why the committee has not been formed despite the passage of over two months, Dar questioned and asked the speaker to fulfil his responsibility immediately as promised by him.
The controversy had started in February amid the reports of government omitting the oath regarding the Finality of Prophethood (PBUH) from the Hajj application form.
However, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sahibzada Noorul Haq had rejected the claims but at the same time told the National Assembly Standing Committee that he was not taken into confidence before removing the oath from page one of the form.
However, the oath for finality of prophethood had been included in other page of the application form, he said adding that “no bad intention was involved in the entire episode”.
He had promised that investigation would be conducted to ascertain real motive of omitting the oath from page one.
