Chinese FM Qin Gang lands in Islamabad for trilateral strategic dialogue

Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang on his first visit to Pakistan reached Islamabad to attend the trilateral strategic dialogue on Friday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, this is the first visit of the Chinese foreign minister to Pakistan after assuming the post.
The 5th Pak-China and Afghanistan Trilateral Foreign Minister's dialogue will be held in Islamabad on May 6 (tomorrow).
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the Chinese Foreign Minister will jointly chair the fourth round of the Pakistan-China Strategic Dialogue.
The sources said this mechanism examines issues of bilateral importance between both countries. The third round of the Pakistan-China Strategic Dialogue was held in Chengdu, China in July 2021.
The sources said during the strategic talks, both sides will reaffirm the strategic cooperative partnership between Pakistan and China.
The sources said the visiting Chinese Foreign Minister will also discuss the development of a road map for multilateral cooperation between Pakistan and China, and the regional and global scenario.
The sources said Chinese Foreign Minister Chen Geng's visit highlights the importance of Pakistan-China relations and their determination to further strengthen their strategic partnership.
The last trilateral meeting of foreign ministers under the current mechanism was held in September 2019.
For the trilateral meeting, Afghan Acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi along with a high-level delegation has also reached Islamabad. on a four-day official visit on Friday.
