Doctors at Sharif Medical City Complex, Lahore have allowed Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz, who had gone there for a checkup, to go abroad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday, basing its story on its sources.

The chief minister is now back home at Jati Umra following her medical examination.

She had an issue with her thyroid, sources said, adding CM Maryam also had a routine checkup before leaving for London tonight.

Meanwhile, Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, in her statement, has said that the chief minister had gone to the hospital on Sunday night where she had a checkup.

Earlier there were reports that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had been admitted to the hospital due to health issues, making her departure abroad conditional on her doctor’s permission.

Maryam’s health had deteriorated yesterday, leading to her admission at the Sharif Medical City Complex, where physicians examine her.

It is noteworthy that the chief minister has been suffering from a throat infection for some time, which necessitated her trip to London for treatment.

During her stay in the UK capital, she'll be seeing her personal physician, and may even undergo surgery to address the issue, which has been bothering her for quite some time.

The trip will mark her first foreign visit since taking office as chief minister.
