Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretariat has fired dozens of its staffers stationed at PTI Secretariat Islamabad as part of an austerity drive, reported 24newshd TV channel on Tuesday.
The sacked employees announced to stage a protest against their termination.
Though the PTI government promised in its election campaign and manifesto to provide 10 million jobs, it seemed they had no other way but to launch the austerity campaign from right inside their headquarters.
Party secretariat staffers who were associated with PTI for the last many years have now been kicked out.
PTI Secretariat Administrator Zahid Kazmi wrote in the termination letter that the party leadership had directed to cut on the expenses. “Your services are no longer required from October 1st,” read the termination letter quoted secretariat top boss.
Sources claimed employees have been sacked after the approval from the party chairman.
