Govt orders crackdown on non-custom paid vehicles across country

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has ordered the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the Excise Department to crack down on non-custom paid vehicles across the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The FBR will conduct operations in all districts along with officials of the law enforcement agencies, official sources said.
Non-custom paid vehicles will be impounded and customs duty will be collected from the owners, they added.
Billions of rupees in taxes can be collected from non-custom paid vehicles across the country. The prime minister has ordered to collect tax from non-custom paid vehicles, they stated.
A nationwide action will be taken against non-custom paid vehicles. If there is no nationwide action, non-custom paid vehicles are transported from one district to another. Action will also be taken against the excise officials who avoid action against non-custom paid vehicles, they added.
