US Congress delegation visits Foreign Office

A delegation of US Congress members led by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee visited the Foreign Office, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto appreciated Shila Jackson for visiting to Pakistan in difficult times.
“I am very sorry for the flood disasters in Pakistan,” Shila Jackson said and announced $30 million for flood survivors.
“In this hour of difficulty, American members of Congress are with Pakistan,” the US congresswomen
Sheila Jackson assured Pakistan of all possible support for the rehabilitation of flood victims.
In a tweet, the foreign minister expressed gratitude to the US team. He added they exchanged views on short-term relief, rescue and rehabilitation, climate Justice, mitigation, resilience, and adaptation. They reaffirmed a stronger Pak-US partnership and continued engagement.

Also, US Congressmen Sheila Jackson Lee and Tom Swasey visited the flood-affected areas of Sindh province. American Ambassador Donald Bloom and prominent American Democrat Tahir Javed were also present.
The visit to the flood-affected areas of Sindh, especially Hyderabad, was arranged by Pakistan's military authorities.
A delegation of Congress members reached Hyderabad in a special plane from Islamabad.
The military officers gave a briefing on the ongoing operation of providing aid and rehabilitation to the victims, including the financial and human losses caused by the flood. The delegation distributed relief items to the flood-affected people.
