Sindh Law Minister Zia Hassan Lanjar has said a joint operation with Punjab police has been initiated in the Kacha area, aimed at eliminating the notorious Shar Gang. Addressing to the journalists, he said the operation is part of a broader strategy to tackle the persistent criminal activities in the Kacha area.

He added operation is expected to intensify as the water levels in Kacha recede, allowing for more effective interventions.

He stressed that the overall security situation has improved, with ongoing operations against dacoits in Kacha contributing to this progress.

Lanjar also informed the media persons that chairpersons for 28 standing committees were elected today, with elections for five additional committees to be held later.

Zia Hassan Lanjar said that dacoits, whether operating in urban areas or the remote Kacha, are a constant threat to the peace and security of society.

He emphasized that the ongoing operations against dacoits and terrorists are meticulously planned and executed. He acknowledged that while police forces are equipped with protective measures, sudden operations can sometimes face challenges in ensuring complete safety.

The minister vowed that the police are active in combating street crime, which has seen a noticeable decline in Karachi.

Lanjar continued that society inevitably harbors both good and evil, but continuous efforts are being made to tip the balance in favor of peace and safety.

Lanjar mentioned his light-hearted interaction with Makhdoom Jamil-uz-Zaman, referring to him as an elder brother.

Addressing questions about the arrest of Mumtaz Shah, Lanjar stated that he was unaware of any developments.

Ensuring justice in high-profile cases like the Karsaz traffic incident, he assured the public that no external pressure would influence the investigation, as the recent medical report of Natasha has been fully incorporated into the ongoing proceedings.
