Keeping in view the instructions of the Supreme Court (SC), the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken a final decision that it will not make a demand to the government to release funds for the  Punjab polls.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the ECP high-ups held a special consultative meeting to discuss the implementation of the SC decision in the Punjab polls case.
The sources said it is decided in the meeting that there will be no correspondence with the Ministry of Finance and the Punjab Government for releasing funds as the SC has already given clear instructions to the Finance Minister and Chief Secretary in this regard.
In the meeting, it is briefed that the Supreme Court has directed the finance ministry to provide funds directly while the Chief Secretary and the IG Police Punjab have also ordered to submit the administrative and security plan to the commission in the court himself.
The sources said the legal team will submit the reports of the finance ministry and caretaker Punjab government to the Supreme Court.
