Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Thursday asked for the details of the federal cabinet meeting held on April 4 with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the chair, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
PTI Information Secretary Farrukh Habib wrote a special letter to the Cabinet Division Secretary on Thursday, asking for the details of the participants, agenda, proceedings and decisions of the meeting.
“The national media has reported that the federal cabinet on April 4, 2023, had rejected the decision of the Supreme Court [regarding elections],” the letter reads.
“A chief justice-led three-member bench, including Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar, has delivered the verdict on Constitutional Petition No. 5/2023 on April 4,” it adds.
“Article A-19 of the Constitution provides citizens with the fundamental right to access information,” it states.
It demands that the cabinet secretary provide the details of the participants, agenda, proceedings and decisions of the April 4 federal cabinet meeting under the Constitution of Pakistan and the Access to Information Act.
