She was addressing the PML-N Social Media Convention in Lahore’s Johar Town area on Sunday. Maryam Nawaz wore Sindhi ajrak design mask to mark the Sindhi Cultural Day also.

Maryam Nawaz said that there will be “major decisions” which will be announced on December 8. “Pakistani public has won the war and the victory declaration will come on December 13,” the PML-N Vice-President added.
Maryam said fake rulers are afraid of Lahore's December 13 public gathering but PML-N workers will not be afraid of any FIRs or even forced abductions. “Workers must not be afraid as about 3,000 FIRs are being lodged after every PDM rally,” she added.
Maryam said, “Come arrest us or even abduct us but the Lahore rally will go ahead.”
The PML-N Vice-President said the PDM is going to take “big decisions” on December 8 and advised all the elected MNAs and MPAs to obey their parties “if we decide to opt for resignations otherwise people will encircle their homes.”
“I call upon all senators, MNAs and MPAs to respect the sanctity of people’s votes and should reject all kinds of pressure and obey their party's decision which will be taken on December 8,” Maryam Nawaz declared.
Maryam said around 3,000 FIRs are being registered after every PDM rally but she has asked her workers to make a necklace of these FIRs.
Maryam once again claimed that late judge Arshad Malik of the accountability court had admitted that he was under pressure to give a verdict against Nawaz Sharif. “Justice Qazi Faez Isa in his petition said the wife of Asim Saleem Bajwa has 13 commercial and five residential undeclared properties in the USA,” Maryam said.
She said, “Has anyone asked the government about what happened at Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) today where eight coronavirus patients died because they did not get oxygen on time.”
“The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) has also remarked that it seems like all the trees of the Billion Tree Tsunami Project were planted in Bani Gala,” she chided at the PTI leader.
Maryam while criticising Prime Minister Imran Khan termed him a “coward” who hid behind security apparatus and shut down cities completely in the name of official visits and protocols.
“Nawaz Sharif had always been among his people while fighting two wars, Zarb-e-Azb and Raddul Fasad,” she added.
Media freedom
Maryam Nawaz commenting on the media’s freedom in Imran Khan’s government said those channels that did not bow to the “line of phone calls” are being muted and their licences are being suspended. “Phone calls officers asked media channels to kick out their anchors. And all of a sudden Matiullah Jan and Ali Imran got abducted. This needs to be stopped. For how long media channels will live in fear,” Maryam questioned.
She advised that the media should be united and resist being a mouthpiece of anyone. “I want to advise the media houses that this government is very clever as it is pitching one media house against the other. One anchor against the other. The media is not free today,” she added.
Maryam said that journalists critical of the government were sacked from their organisations because the government told them that their channels would be shut if they don’t fire certain journalists. “Matiullah Jan disappeared in broad daylight… Ali Imran disappeared, and they all were picked up from their homes,” said the PML-N leader. “The fake prime minister says on TV ‘I don’t know who picked them’.”
Maryam said, “I know channels are being used against us these days and they are being pressured through phone calls but for how long the media channels will be ruled through divide-and-rule policy. All media channels should be united against such repressive measures against their freedom.”
Tabedar Khan
Maryam labelled Imran Khan as Tabedar (Obedient) Khan. Maryam, while mocking the premier, said that he didn’t know anything about journalists’ disappearance, raid on her hotel room in Karachi or Sindh IG’s kidnapping but he calls himself the prime minister.
She asked the media not to be pressured. “Media should refuse to become anyone’s tool,” she said.
Maryam Nawaz challenged the PTI that their prime minister cannot go into public even for two minutes.
Maryam Nawaz said the selected government was imposed on us by stealing the 2018 elections. “The driver of this bus is incompetent so it needs a push again and again,” she added.
“This government spoke of giving respect to the green passport but instead several countries have now banned flights from Pakistan,” she said and added Nawaz Sharif was ousted from the government on the basis of an expired iqama.
The PML-N Vice-President also advised the judiciary to stand on the right side of history and provides justice so their name should be remembered in golden words just like Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Seth Waqar who handed death penalty to Pervez Musharraf.
Social media teams
Maryam spoke at length about how the party's popularity and reach has been propelled by the social media teams and thanked them for their dedication. "Thanks to our social media team, Nawaz Sharif's voice has reached across the country today," Maryam said, as she paid tribute to teams from across the provinces.
She thanked the social media teams for "continuing to carry forward Nawaz Sharif's narrative".
