Along with a serious crisis of medicine that began to emerge in Karachi, surgical items have also become rare in Karachi on Tuesday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Vice Chairman of the Medicine Market Aamir Malik said IV cannulas, drip sets, and syringes have become rare in the city.
The medicine market leader said the prices have gone up due to the scarcity of medicine and hospitals are consuming more because of higher rates.
He said that there is fear in the wholesale market as raw material comes from foreign countries while LCs of importers are also closed.
On the other hand, traders and dealers of medicine said that the rates of medicine are being justified by multinational drug companies with the increasing value of the dollar against Pakistani currency.
They said the government should freeze the current prices of medicines as Pakistani companies are making drugs at low cost.
