The traders and business community in Islamabad on Tuesday staged a protest over the closure of Centaurus Mall and blocked the Jinnah Avenue, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“Centaurus Mall should be opened or else we will stage sit-ins,” the traders warned.
Earlier, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sealed Centaurus Mall after the safety measures against fire eruption were not taken.
As per the official sources, the CDA had issued several notices to the management of Centaurus Mall to ensure safety measures after the eruption of a fire in the mall a couple of months ago.
Despite the CDA’s notices, safety measures against fire eruption had not been taken by the management of the mall. The CDA took the action on late Monday night and sealed the Mall.
Also, repairs had not been made to the damages caused by the fire to the building which prompted the CDA to seal it.
