The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), in five operations carried out last week, arrested six women allegedly involved in the smuggling of drugs, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.


The ANF officials said that they had also recovered over 26 kilogrammes of narcotics from the women, who as per their claim, had links with inter-provincial and international gangs of drug smugglers.


They said that the involvement of women in crime was a matter of grave concern.


Giving details, they said that the ANF personnel recovered 87 capsules filled with heroin from the belly of a woman named Sumera, a resident of Lahore, at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport when she was about to board a flight for Oman.


Similarly, they informed that their personnel took into custody two people, including a woman, at Multan airport.   


Aqsa, a resident of Sahiwal, and Noor Ahmad were about to leave for Qatar when the ANF personnel stopped them for checking.


And when their luggage was checked, 855 grams of ice were recovered from their bag, the officials claimed.


Similarly, the Force also recovered 1.942 kilogrammes of ice from the bag of a woman, named Saadia, a resident of Karachi, at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.


The woman was about to catch a flight for Bahrain when she was arrested, they informed.


Likewise, the officials said that the ANF personnel arrested two women named Saima and Shareefan in Aurangi Town area of Karachi, and recovered 22.8 kilogrammes of charas from their possession. 


They also claimed that they took into custody a woman named Ameena, a resident of Peshawar, from Chungi No 26, a suburban area of Islamabad and recovered 500 grams of charas and 250 grams of ice from her.
