Former premier Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) President Fazlur Rehman had a telephonic conversation on Tuesday, sources said.

Abdul Ghafoor Haidri of the JUI also talked to the former prime minister over the phone, the sources said, adding that Nawaz assured the PDM leadership of all-out support.

They discussed the joint opposition’s plan for upcoming by-elections and Senate vote as well as long march and resignation. Nawaz and the JUI leaders exchanged views over the phone after the PDM big guns called the ongoing anti-government campaign ‘jihad’ and stepping back a ‘sin’.

Fazl, the president of 11-party alliance against the government, said they will show their cards on time to leave the government shell-shocked. He was addressing the public gathering in southern Punjab where the daughter of Nawaz Sharif Maryam Nawaz and other leaders also spoke.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan told his party leaders to ‘expose’ Nawaz and Fazl every forum. Fazl acquired assets beyond means hence he must give an account for it and surrender to NAB, the prime minister told the party leaders and spokespersons.
