Desilting of Sukkur Barrage canals begins

The release of water into all seven canals of the Sukkur Barrage has been stopped for their desilting, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The desilting, which is an annual feature is to begin today (Thursday, January 6), and will last till January 20.
Under the desilting, the canals are cleaned and other repair work is done.
