Saraikis should get due rights: Asif Ali Zardari

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has reiterated the party's resolve to continue efforts for public betterment.
Addressing an event held to mark the birthday of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed in Multan, the former president said he filed the reference against the PPP founder’s death sentence in the Supreme Court.
He stressed that the Saraikis should get their due rights and the PPP is the party that always fights for the rights of people and will continue doing so.
He listed the PPP feats saying: “We brought in Benazir Income Support Programme for the poor and workers."
The former president said during the PPP rule in the centre, exports reached Rs25 billion.
“Due to lack of positive thinking, we suffered many losses," he rued.
“Pakistan is our motherland and we should make concerted efforts to make it prosperous,” the president.
Earlier, Asif Ali Zardari cut the cake to mark the 96th birthday of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed.
He was flanked by Yousuf Raza Gilani, Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood, Hina Rabbani Khar, Khawaja Rizwan, Natasha Doultana, Abdul Qadir Shaheen, Mehmood Hayat and other party leaders.
Thousands of people participated in the event. The venue echoed with slogans like ‘Long live Bhutto’.
