Lahore court orders jail trial in Askari Tower attack and arson case

An Anti-Terrorism Court has ordered a jail trial in the Askari Tower attack and arson case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The court ordered the next trial of the case will be held in Kot Lakhpat Jail.
The court adjourned further hearing of the trial till June 11.
Former Governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Ijaz Chaudhry, Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid and Dr. Yasmin Rashid were not produced in the court from jail.
The jail warrants of the detained accused were presented in the court.
However, Khadija Shah and other bailed accused in the case appeared for attendance.
Anti-Terrorism Court Administrator Judge Khalid Arshad conducted the hearing.
The prosecution has filed a challan against the accused in the court. The case includes sedition and other serious provisions.
Gulberg police station has registered a case number 1271/23 against the accused.
