LHC judge refuses to hear Aurat March petition

March 6, 2023 12:21 PM

Lahore High Court (LHC) judge Justice Muzammil Akhtar Shabbir Monday apologised to hear the petition seeking permission for Aurat March, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The women organisers of Aurat March appeared in the court along with their lawyers.

The petition had been filed by a citizen named Khawar Naeem.

While recommending to transfer the case to some other court, the judge sent the file to the chief justice.

“The Constitution has given the women equal rights,” it had been stated in the petition.

“An application had been submitted to the Lahore deputy commissioner for Aurat March, but he did not give permission,” it had been added.

The petition had pleaded with the court to allow Aurat March and also order to provide security to it.
