Taking notice of the irregularities allegedly committed in the purchase of medicines from a dispensary situated inside the Governor House, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar on Thursday constituted a committee to look into the matter, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

24News has learned that Rs0.9 million had been released for the purpose but the medicines purchased this year did not cost more than Rs0.6 million.

The governor has asked the committee to complete its inquiry into the ‘scandal’ in two weeks and share its findings with him.

The committee will also interrogate the doctors and paramedical staff deputed at the Governor House’s dispensary.

A spokesman for the Governor House has said that Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has resolved not to pardon those responsible.
