Two persons died and two others were seriously injured when gunmen who were riding three motorcycles opened fire Hamid Group members who were working in a wheat field in Kotli Maharan area in the jurisdiction of Wahando Police Station in Kamoke on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources said that the firing incident occurred due to an old enmity between two groups namely Shahid Group and Hamid Group.
The unknown assailants belonged to Shahid Group started firing on members of Hamid Group who were working in a wheat field.
Due to heavy firing two persons died on the spot while other two people received serious wounds.
The dead people were later identified as Mohammad Shoaib and Yaseen and while injured persons namely Huzila and Abu Safiyan were shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Gujranwala.
Sources further said that prior to this attack, Shahid Group also killed a brother of Hamid.
All the accused persons escaped from the scene after firing.
Further investigation was underway.
