Army chief confers gallantry awards on heroes, families

An investiture ceremony was held at GHQ, Rawalpindi on Sunday. General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), was the chief guest on this occasion. The COAS conferred military awards to army personnel for acts of gallantry during various operations.

According to a press release issued by the ISPR, families of Shuhada and Ghazis and senior serving military officers and soldiers attended the ceremony. As many as 40 officers were awarded Sitara-I-Imtiaz (Military), 24 officers and soldiers were awarded Tamgha-E-Bisalat and a soldier was awarded United Nations (UN) Medal. Medals of Shuhada were received by their family members.
